History

Lazy 5 Ranch Veterinary Services began operating in February 2005 when Dr. Corrie Connolly and Dr. Rebekah Julian purchased James Animal Hospital from Dr. Ted James. Both doctors, originally from the area, had worked for Dr. James for a few years. He wanted to sell his practice to a couple of young doctors with big hearts who would not only take care of his long-time clientele, but would also expand the hospital’s services and build a new facility to handle growth in Rowan County. Although Dr. James passed away in 2006 before the new clinic was complete, he did give his stamp of approval on the plans for a new hospital that the doctors had come up with on their own.

This facility is for the clients, the animals and our staff of highly trained veterinary technicians. For years, we had to set ourselves apart from the other vets based on our customer service because we weren’t winning anyone over in our old facility. But now we can have that same customer service in a place where clients can feel comfortable. Growth doesn’t always have to be about the biggest facility or the most money made. That’s not our goal. We want to offer the best care possible for our clients’ pets.
